Katleen & Joeri

A beach ceremony & a furry best man.

Two Pilots on Cloud 9

When Katleen and Joeri, two lovely people and both professional pilots, reached out to us with the vision for their wedding, we immediately said yes. A two-day celebration, on the beach, and a special best man—their golden retriever? Count us in! We’re very happy with the result, featuring a ceremony on a private beach, a large guest list, lavish decorations, and a few surprises for the guests (think: disco balls in the pool—read on if you’re intrigued). Of course, we made sure their gorgeous dog played a special part during the day.

How to Include Your Pet in a Destination Wedding

In their spare time, this pilot couple likes to take a single engine and fly over the island. Their retriever often came along, so he was already familiar with the journey and the island. So Katleen & Joeri couldn’t imagine saying “I do” without their dog by their side.

Including your pet in your wedding festivities isn’t just about the cuteness factor; it’s about celebrating the love that encompasses your entire family.

Imagine your pup walking down the aisle with a custom floral collar!  Or how about letting them take on a special role, like the ring bearer? And don’t forget the emotional support pets provide. Taking a break with your dog can bring a sense of calm and comfort on a day that can be filled with excitement and, yes, a little stress.

For this wedding, we made a custom tux collar to go with his role as best man. And we made sure he was part of the photoshoot, to leave the couple with beautiful souvenirs.

A Private Ceremony and Reception at Es Cavallet

Es Cavallet is a long white sandy beach with several charming fishermen’s huts. We privatized the pier and adorned it with a white aisle runner and bohemian Bali parasols. The pathway led to a section of private beach with stunning views over the bay. Guests took their seats as the handsome golden retriever stole the show, walking down the aisle. During the cocktail reception, a live saxophonist and a glass of rosé champagne set a relaxed atmosphere.

A Special Wedding Favor for Dinner

Based on our initial talks, we included some personal details to the styling. The tables were named after different aircraft manufacturers—Jetprop, PC 24, Boeing, Bombardier—as a playful nod to the couple. And each guest received a favor at the table: a bottle of Hierbas de Ibiza and a jar of Sal de Ibiza, sourced from the nearby salt fields.

For the evening party, the Belgian band Truephonic was brought in to light up the dancefloor, keeping guests dancing late into the night.
